Sounds like the wbx should be basically ok.
I would pull the heads, and put new gaskets in it,
and replace the orings.
Also gives you a chance to clean it up inside,
whatever gunk might have gotten into the combustion
chambers.
The head gasket jobs on those Canadian rebuilts
are questionable anyway.
The later ones were assembled without any silicone
sealant between the gasket and head.
They are very prone to head gasket failure,
early in their lifespan.
The bottom end on those rebuilts is supposed to be ok.
You might want to replace the crankshaft seals,
while you're at it, at least, the rear one.
