I fit all the lumber for a 12' X 16' deck into my van once. The 16' long decking boards hung out a bit out the back, but most of it was within the van.

It was about a dozen 2x10 12-footers, about 30 5/4x6 - 16' decking boards, a 6x6 post, 15 2x4's, 15 4x4's, innumerable 2x2's, and 3 stair risers. Also screws, hangers, etc. Oh yeah, and a couple of 2x12's, too.

Had to drive it across the front yard and back it up the side yard to unload it. I should add that the lumber was very wet when I did this. I believe I maxed out the suspension on that one.
