What can possibly be gained by filtering those members most willing to help? Sure, sometimes the discussion gets off topic, but those are often the most interesting. A good argument is always more fun than a bunch of people saying, "I agree." It certainly beats several common threads. Like Stan, I have an air-cooled Vanagon, so I have no interest in the water based discussions, and no expertise to offer. I find I can delete 75 messages, reading the ones that interest me, and even answering a couple, in 5 to 10 minutes. What's the big deal? If you don't have 10 minutes, you don't have time to keep your Vanagon running. Also, if you are having a problem with storage on Hotmail, pony up the 20 bucks a year for the enhanced service. Better yet, register a domain and put it on a free host. Then you can set up your own mailboxes. I know a host that is free, and with no banners or popups. Pmail me if interested.

Now, let's talk about my brakes. The pedal goes almost to the floor. If I pump them up, I can lock up the wheels, but steady pressure and the pedal slowly goes down. Is it master cylinder time? Is it possible that bleeding would fix this? Is there a brake witch on the list who can fix them with a spell for a good price? Where is Hermione when I need her. A wave of the wand and everything would be fine.

Bill in the Southwest.
