Subject: Re: 2.6 SA engine kit

So the 2.6L Audi has 134 hp, 147 ft.lbs.

About the same as a Subaru 2.2L 4 cyl, which is 135 hp and 139ft.lbs.

A Subaru 2.5L 4 cyl has 165 hp and 166 ft.lbs. (OBD-2,however)

A Suby 3.3L six cyl has 230hp and 228 ft.lbs. (tighter fit, length like an I5)

All three have kits readily available, and fit in the Vanagon engine bay with no modifications to the deck lid necessary. Smooth running, reliable, modern "boxer" engines all....that fit.

But the I5 is VW/Audi(German), if you must.
