Subject: Re: funny disc? - Ooops I was wrong, you caught me

Howard with Open Wheel Racing corrected my thinking on the "Funny Disk". I've seen many of them around but I've never seen one with the center filled. I was wrong in my thinking that they had a control number on the back side. I've seen brand new engines with just an hour run in on them and the centers had melted out, so in effect I've never seen one that didn't just look like a washer. Stan

-------------------- Clip From Howard ---------------------------

The part number is PERFECT CIRCLE # 216-1134.

On the disk is says "GUARANTEE VOID IF REMOVED".

The instruction sheet says:

"INSTRUCTION SHEET FOR 216-1134" "Heat tabs should be installed on cylinder head(s) using one of several readily available heat resistant bonding materials (such as plastic aluminum). Remove all grease, paint, and rust to insure proper bond".

"If the cylinder head temperature exceeds 255' - 260' degrees, the center of the tab will melt out indicating that the engine was overheated". Voiding the Guarantee!

Howard
