I haven't used my "new" 85 Vanagon yet, but my 72 westy I had loaded up to the gills on multiple occations. I too am in construction and had a few instances where I had about 40 2x4 about 10 2x6 and 8s and few trips with doors, concrete, and roofing. Just about anything, even 16 footers.What a site. Only downfall was 4x8 sheets wouldn't fit due to the cabinets.
