When I want to use my auto battery powered timing light, I just bring one
of my spare "fresh off the charger" batteries around to the back of the
van....  works without any problems as long as I want to play...

The next light I get will be one of those units that runs off 6 or 8 AA
batteries...  only trouble is they run about $75-$100 everywhere I've seen
them...
