Chris and Chris,

Nice words! But Chris (of JordanVW), I sent you photos several years ago upon your request! I detailed the install in several posts to the archives. Can't recreate the details now as I am in the middle of the Mojave desert tracking fossils of 30 MYr old microbial mats! I'll hit LA by next Wednesday and will try to respond to the current pi**ing contests now ongoing on the list!

But back to the A/C install. I have since (as in after the pictures on Alistair's site) cleaned up the bracket extension, but the original worked perfectly. I have been extremely pleased with the A/C and with the wooden shelf. Actually makes it very easy to step out to the luggage area, and to load our canvas bag system.

I found it necessary to shorten the A/C transfer tunnel to minimize the impact on the above stove area. I also took the time to properly seal the A/C housing. The system is capable of maintaining the rear seat area at 75 F while spinning through west Texas at midday in July. As to the front vent system, it is possible to develop a severe headache (cold) if you have a sparse palate!

To summarize, the system works well! Well worth the effort.

Frank Grunthaner
