When I started the "spare' list in '96 or '97 there were a little better than eight hundred members. I suspect that there are closer to a thousand subscribers now based on the population of the 'spare' list which historically has run about 60% of the 'real' list.

I suspect that you'll find that many of us who have been here for a while don't find it necessary to comment on: tires, head leaks, ox sensor light, cv knock, third/fourth gear problems, importing a (insert non-USA country here) van and the like.

I usually scan for interesting threads, read 'em, select all and delete. Signal to noise, IMO, has remained about the same for the past four or five years.
