So sorry to hear of your loss.  I have often thought of a suitable
punishment for criminals like these.  Strip them naked, paint them head to
toe with several coats of a fine lacquer in the color of your choice put
them in headstocks in the town square in the summer sun for 5 days on bread
and water.  Then break their thumbs.  Ever wonder why they have those
itsybitsy chain steering wheels?  Ever try to drive with handcuffs on?
