<< European Car magazine! He originally purchased a nice 3.6l Porsche Engine for installing in his 1986 Syncro Westy (I think '86) because in a European Car magazine article it said "Can use up to the 3.6L Porsche 6."

Well, he bought the engine first, then when they kit arrived he learned that only a 3.2l would fit. It seems that the 3.6l has dual spark plugs and wouldn't fit. >>

MSDS did build a couple of 3.6 kits. I communicated with Marty about it as a friend of mine in Jamaica said he wanted to upstage his 3.2 Vanagon with a 3.6 for his Doka. Well, MSDS was going out of the Vanagon conversion business so he was going to be SOL. Marty said my pal was able to "persuade" him to sell the 3.6 kit. BOTH of them were disassembled and shipped to Montego Bay. So if you are in Jamaica and happen to spot a pair of Vanagons sporting 17" AMG rims from an SL500 that'd be my Chinese but totally Bob Marley talking buddy Mike. Ya'Man. De pissed off wife chasing him in the SL500 missing wheels be his wife.
