I'm considering this upgrade as well and checked out the instructions provided by Ken Lewis and Frank Condelli. If I read them both correctly, it looks as if one method adds the fat 10 gauge wire to the battery, while the other does not.

How does this 10 gauge wire improve the upgrade? Is it necessary?
