No need. Just take your time and cut all of the tie-wraps on the pipes (there are a bunch on top of the gas tank but you can reach them through the hole in the frame on top of the tank). Then pull both out together and twist them this way and that way. It is like a chinese puzzle but you will get them out. This is not as hard as it looks. Have fun and try not to get wet :)

I want to replace the long coolant pipes going to/from the radiator, as the flanges have corroded/broken. Is it necessary to remove the fuel tank? If so, is this something an amateur "mechanic" (me) could handle? Any tips/suggestions on the procedure?
