Subject: more on the doublecabs
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII"
I've gotten a lot of responses about these vans. When I find out more info I
will let you know. Here is what I know now. Michael Papp purchased these vans
in Germany in 2001. He had them shipped to the USA and sold them on Ebay
during shipment in dec. 2001. I won the 90 crewcab and sent a deposit to
Michael as did the other winners. Michael was never able to get the vans out
of customs. It took us six months to get our money back. The vans have been
held by US Customs in Camden, NJ for 2 years. Somehow a friend of mine/vw
mechanic in NJ has been able to purchase the vans from customs to sell as
parts. He was told he cannot sell the vans as entire vehicles and will be
required to prove he hasn't from time to time. He doesn't want to be
contacted until he has the vans in his possesion. He is supposed to pick them
up in Camden later this week. I will post his info when/if he is ready for
all the questions. Please email me at Doinks99@aol.com with anymore
questions.
