I'm pretty convinced the Mighty vac type rig is useless.

The last time I swapped out transmissions last summer, I used a much more effective bleeding system, though overall more expensive - my wife.

I have no idea about your springs question, John. We used the pump three times and hold system, and I started at the slave and then to the master.

I had all kinds of problems even then, and then Dennis suggested that a new slave (master) will likely be followe shortly by replacement of a new master (slave), and he was right. Maybe its because you get better pressure out of the new unit, and it blows the seals in the old one.

Anyway, once I replaced both master and slave, bleeding was very straightforward, with an assistant.

Hope this helps.
