Mark,

I'm not sure what you mean by "inner most metal insert". The jumpseat equipped vans have a welded in reinforcement in the battery box area with a captive nut behind it. You can easily compensate for the lack of reinforcement by adding thick wide washers on the back side of the installation. The rear brackets are side specific. The mounting stud is slightly off center. the floor brackets is not a simple tube. It's actually a simple tube welded to a reinforcing plate. The plate gets welded to the floor. Now if you are putting these guys on a Westy, your floor covering is too thick to be used as is. You will need to either cut a spot where you can properly mount the floor mounts or lift that section of floor before attachment. It will totally make sense if you mock-up the install prior to making any cuts or drilling holes.

As always, when asking these type of questions, you will need to specify EXACTLY the year and model of the donor vehicle and the receiving one as well. Otherwise, there are too many variables to consider. Thereby resulting in incomplete or improper answers to your question.
