Well, I'd really like to see this problem of yours solved... cause I was in Florida last summer and I know what you mean... didn't have a hatch extender then, but do now.. but you're saying they don't help enough... (and you couldn't use it in the rain anyway could you?) and I have those front window visors now too... (how much do they help?)

Do you have sputtered metal for tint??? or do you have dye-only tint...

One option I guess would be to have a car alarm that you can use to start your engine and to start your ac before you step inside the van...

Maybe Alpine...

And the Packasport in the largest size (1300 dollars including the racks) could maybe act as a sunshade...

I know how well the vanagon retains heat in the rear in the summer.. it was impossible for me to even try to sleep in that thing... down in Broward and Dade county... had to get a hotel... so much for saving money...

Can you a run a dehumidifier in the van (solar powered)???

You are talking about having this problem in summer aren't you?? Its not that bad now is it???
