Mark - I agree. My Kumho 852 195/14 LT tires have 2 nylon plies in the carcass + 2 steel belts for a total of 4 plies under the tread. I suspect if John were to read the data on his tires he would find something similar.

The important feature of any tire for a Westy, I believe, is to make sure you can run the 48 psi it needs on the rear axle. Most P series tires won't go over 35 psi, and that's a big reason for the softer feeling.

Just remember that the max pressure listed on the tire is not what you have to run on your vehicle. Check your door data plate for info.
