also i think a factor is what type of wheel caps you have on, my 85 had the plastic covers that allow water and stuff in, seems the P.O liked tire shop torching :) aka air gun this combo leads to nut busting. me I like to be able to remove a nut and hope my wife will be able also if she needs. ohh i put alittle liquid wench and clean the threads never over torch.

I also changed the wheel caps to the older model type seems everything stays kinda clean even after water storm, but this leaves the breaks open a bit for water. catch 22
