I'm sorry, but a stock Vanagon is *not* a dangerously low-slung vehicle! :) Compare the ground clearance under it to the clearance under a stock Honda Civic, some time. About the only clearance issue with Vanagons is the long front overhang. You might have approach angle problems with steep driveway entrances if you really lowered it radically.

Of course, if you've done a Subaru conversion it might be different. That oil pan really looks exposed hanging down there.
