Well, Harald, define need...

Actually, I think it's kind of cool and keeps the area between the seats that much less cluttered. However, I can think of at least one major downside. Unless they've reversed a decades old trend of making things harder to access and repair, that dash is going to be a nightmare to work on. Can't wait to let the local luminaries in the Good Guys car stereo department working on that.

And god help us if the same people who designed the manual heating/cooling system controls have now been given free reign to design the equivalent via an LCD screen.
