(Sorry, Joe. It's kinda Friday.)

Are "sping clams" any better than winter clams? I've heard of using clams for chowdah. Yes I have used lighter fluid in the car then lit my clams. They were delicious.

As for SPRING CLAMPS, we had some minor discussion about this last month. I was saying that I'd hate to be sitting on top pf that front wheel well when one of them broke loose. Another listee said that load PING of a breaking clamp that I was expecting is more like a soft snap and flop.

The bottomline is you will have less coils to spring your ride whether you lop off a coil or clamp two adjacent coils together.

If the original poster wants, they are welcome to try the ride of three methods of lowering. I had a 1990 non-GL with Carat suspension (still have access to it). Have my 87 w/ H&R springs. Then I have the RHD Single Cab w/ spring clamps that the DPO installed. Perhaps it is due to the lighter weight of a singlecab because the ride is smoother than my H&T equipped van.
