I swear the cab (with the relatively young couple driving,) looked like a Tri-Star or double cab Vanagon, but with a large, canvas cover over the cargo area. It looked fairly new, and definitely European, and there was a badge or logo on the front that I couldn't quite make out (not VW). Any ideas what this could have been? >>

Mark,

I am attaching PICS of a Pinzgauer owned by a fellow at I met at Bug-O-Rama in Sacramento. Nicknamed PINZILLA. It s about the same size as a Syncro. This one is a troop carrier with canvas rear.

Good used examples can be found stateside for about $5000. I believe production of these guys have moved to the UK from the SDP plant in Graz, Austria since the Brits decided to use these guys for their military.

Unfortunately, the List Server does not permit attachments. So only Mark will receive it wit this posting. Pmail me if you want to see the PIC as well.

BenT
