George, chill. : ) The owner of their recently recovered stolen vehicle asked the question. Only interior damage, IIRC. They thought their insurance company would write it off, and they are considering they'd buy it back and put in a new interior. I don't think they were trying to screw anybody. Salvage laws make absolute sense when it comes to late model cars for safety purposes. But from an insurance companies point of view, our vanagons aren't collectable, economically rebuildible (new parts), or replaceable. So they'd rather dish out cash...
