The German black sealant is definitely the best, Boston Bob had some comments on this subject like a month ago as well regarding the proper break in I believe.

Which part of the Susquehanna is she headed for ? I may have to go "fishing"....

ARe you using the "special" sealer? Is the surfaces perfectly clean, straight, and with out oils?
