On the other hand, changing gear lube will dump the left over stuff from the
previous change. If you can afford it do it. The psychological comfort of
knowing what you put in is new, is worth it in my opinion.
I'm using Mobil one in the crank case and next oil change I'll try Amsoil.
Next year I may change the Red Line to Amsoil in the tranny. For now, Red
Line is OK for under 2,000 miles a year.
