Hi all, Just wanted to put the question out there for you learned list members. I'm sure it has been discussed plenty of times but I'm getting no love from the archive. I have an '87 Syncro Vanagon GL and am in the process of installing a Westfalia rear bench seat/bed. So far I have the cabinetry bolted down to the floor and am ready to bolt the brackets down to the rear deck. Now, I know that the gas tank is under the rear deck on the passenger side. How have you guys managed to bolt that bracket down without dropping the gas tank? In contrast to one opinion that I did find in the archive, there does NOT appear to be a captive bolt on the passenger side rear deck. Open to all suggestions short of pulling engine/trans/gas tank. Best regards, Ben Beasley 1987 Syncro "Babe, the big blue ox" |
