Yes, that's pretty close to what I do. I got a 16" long 1/2" drive socket
wrench (not ratchet) and use a socket. Plenty of leverage. Will even take
off impact wrench applied nuts/bolts. If anythng, I have to be careful to
not put too much pressure putting them back on my aluminum wheels.
