It's a much better "backyard mechanic" manual than the Bentley, in my opinion. The Bentley basically assumes you're a trained VW mechanic - which most of us aren't - that just needs a little reminder on the idiosyncrasies of the Vanagon, having worked on Jettas, Rabbits and Passants for the last couple of months. Better yet, if you can find it, is the Clymer Vanagon manual. It *does* cover some elements of the diesel, doesn't confuse you with model of the Vanagon never imported into the U.S., and doesn't misspell common words like "color." :-) --------------------------------------------------------------- Tom Young '81 Vanagon Lafayette, CA 94549 '82 Westfalia ---------------------------------------------------------------
