Well, as far as I know, there's probably nothing wrong with the blue goo. The problem is that I'd like to buy some so I can carry a bit with me just in case... I don't particularly want to go mixing oils, so unless i can find out for sure what's in mine, I really need to drain it and start over with a known oil.

It's a very distinctive blue color. I'll try and find some Swepco oil and buy a quart to compare with what's in the gear box. If I end up pretty certain that what I have *is* the Swepco, then I'll just stay with what's in there. If I'm still not certain if it's Swepco or not, then I'll drain and change it so I'll know for sure what's in it...

Thanks to all for the advice! Now I need to find a quart of Swepco gear oil to compare with what's in my box.
