If it has backfired a few times, check the following items: 1) Fuel Pressure Regulator Vacuum Line, be sure it isn't off or leaking. 2) Fiber spacer blocks under intakes at the heads for leaks, cracks. 3) Flapper in the AFM might be stuck or fouled the internal track devise. I have found all three problems at one time or another on my van.
