Subject: lifters for new engine?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

On my rebuild, i am pondering the potential lifter situation - hydraulic or old school mechanical. I'm getting ready to get a new cam, and am trying to decide which grind to get.

Obviously, hydraulics get that whole "don't really need to adjust" thing, but also get the "random clacking on startup" thing. Mechanical lifters get the "it doesn't really clack" thing, but gets the "you have to adjust it every 3k miles" thing.

Which would you guys go for, and why? I'm not hung up on it one way or the other, but if you peeps can show me a compelling reason to go one way or the other, i'd appreciate it.

Thanks, -Damon
