"Boogie-woogie" cloth was an actual option offered on early Vanagons. It's the cloth with alternating horizontal bars in funky colors. We've got in our '80 Westy (now only in the back since we had the front seats reupholstered with Dus Depot's sweet original fabric.

Wow- I guess GEX engines must have improved in the last ten years! My GEX blew at 47,000 in my 64 Bus.

I never got 32 mpg except in my 62 Beetle.

I have heard the aircooled Vanagons run lean- A Vanagon engine has to burn gas pretty lean to get that kind of mileage. No wonder they sink valves and burn pistons!

A typo? Five speed trans? Or is it the Boogie-Woogie cloth? Has anyone heard of boogie -woogie cloth before? Is this a European option? As in "Ich tanze das boogie-woogie?"

If you have the money, now you can drive the boogie-woogie @32 mpg.

It's as green as the money you'll save on your gas bill. They'll be green with envy.
