I have a badge from VW on my bus that mounts where it used to say "VANAGON". The Badge says "CAMPING" in the 83 Vanagon Font and I originally saw the badge mounted on Westfalia's in Europe--I think Italy. Possibly it was a universal European badge.

Looking at a Westfalia Brochure which appears to be from about 1985 I see one picture of the rear hatch of a Wesfalia and in the Vanagon font used in 84 and 85, where it would say "VANAGON" in the USA it says "CLUB JOKER". On the other side of the hatch it has what is custom in the USA for that vintage which is the badge that has the VW logo followed by the word VOLKSWAGEN. Also there appears to be a high top Westfalia camper in the brochure that just has a badge that says "JOKER" as opposed to Club Joker. (membership has it's privlages ;). The high top has skis mounted from the rear bumper vertically up the back so could be blocking the word "club" if in fact it's there on this bus. But it appears it only says, "JOKER."
