Subject: Oil pressure sensor sabotage!!!
Content-Type: text/plain; format=flowed
The previous owner of our van either had it done or did it himself(this is a
guy who paid 45 dollars to have the dash lights replaced) Well in the
middle of a head replacement we discovered that the sensor at the very back
of the engine was gounded out to the distributor. This was an in line
splice that looked quite innocent, but after we removed it you cannot drive
the van very far without the buzzer giving you cardiac arrest. We also have
an AT issue so its not being driven at all(wont work in Drive or it wont go
into 3rd without slipping ) Now my precious has the knock of and engine
needing some major work after we put it all back together already! We drove
it for 10 months with one summer 10 hour trip. Then it leaked exsaust in
the coolant and coolant in the cylinder. We fixed that but now i fear that
main bearings are fucked. We did install a new torque converter will a
flawed installation cause a knocking sound? Any help would ressurect my
spirits! Thanks Raul '89 Money Pit
(but we still love it?)
