I used to be on this list around 86 before the type2 and splitties got their own listservers. Good to be back. I have just bought a 87 automatic Air conditioned Westy, so that my wife Jan will be happier camping than in my 70 pop-top Westy. The camper parts seems hardly used, in fact there still is the blue wrapper on the cover to the two-burner stove. But I do not know where to fill up the gas in San Jose or Cupertino Ca, or even what to ask for. Also the water filler has a locking cover and I was not given a Key! I think I can remove it with four screws and get the lock keyed by a lock smith. How do you work the refrigerator? In front of the stove is a series of switches, what do they do? I do not think it has a second battery. Is there anyone in the San Jose area who could show me or is there a good reference. TIA Sam W 53 singlecab 70 Westy 87 vanagon camper |
