1.Yes, it is a power on supply. That is the job of the load reduction relay is to turn the power to the wipers, and heat controls after the engine is started, or when the key is turned. I know that none of that is on when key is in the off position 2. the blue red should be connected to the 2nd battery. But in the hella directions it says that it can also be used to power the kitchenette directly. Thats what chose to do at that moment in time. Someday I'll probably connect it to a 2nd battery, then to the kitchenette. 3. The hella kit does come with it's own fuse, if you choose to fuse everything up, then I guess that's up to you. I dunno. have fun, Tracy 85' GL "Ripple" James V <tornadored@EARTHLINK.NET> wrote:Thanks all for the info thus far...I think it's just about making sense! Couple questions:

One of the links (Hella Kit instructions, I think) states "This lead should be connected w/ a 12v supply which only becomes alive when either the ignition is switched on, (not accessory side) or possibly when engine is running"

Lastly, it's my understanding that the Hella Kit relay has a built-in fuse. Is that the only fuse necessary? I assume that I should add a fuse between the aux battery and items it powers?
