Steve, my man, it is a 17 mm hex socket drain plug so you need a, guess what, 17 mm hex socket wrench. Since you asked this, I have to assume you never drained it before. One precaution: take out the fill plug first. Then, if it is stuck tight you will still be able to use the van until you finally do get it out.
