This is a common problem. The water pump does give warning before this happens but most do not recognize the noise or right it off as something else. I use a Devcon epoxy or JB weld to build up the case and restore the original shape. A Bastard file will make the epoxy smotth and flush after it hardens.

Hey there i was just wondering if this had happened to anyone else. My water pump has unseated from its bearing with no leak but it silently (believe it or not) gound into the case about 1/16 of an inch. How much would this affect the flow of my new water pump(if at all)? Raul '89 GL Wolf
