To Everyone;

For over a year my '85 GL has demonstrated the "Vanagon Syndrome" with it feeling like it was running out gas only to come to life again. To say the least it was a jerky ride at best. Over the last month driving the Vanagon anywhere was a challenge and reminiscent of Mr. Toad's Wild Ride. That's why I sought out a user's group such as this one.

Earlier today I applied several of the suggestions offered by newsgroup members and much to my delight cleaning all of the electrical connections I could find around the engine with a quality contact cleaner (one that has military specs) my van ran like it did when it was a youngster.

I did have one little mishap. The spring clip that holds the Temp 2 connector in place flew off and where it landed I never did discover. It's the spring clip that goes on the little blue thingamigjig. Could someone tell me where I could locate the spring clip and if necessary where the blue thingamigjig can be purchased? Of course it would help to know the technical name for that thingamigjig.

Richard
