With all due respect, your experience is anecdotal, as is mine. I have not had any problems with the rebuilt halfshafts in 3+ years of driving around with them.

I'd rather replace a half shaft than have to take the shaft apart, clean and repack 2 CVs, put the boots back on, etc. When I was a grad student, I had spare time to do all this. Now I don't.

But hey, that's just me.
