Hi all, I've been lurking on this list for a month or so but now have a need to step out of the shadows. I am the third owner of an 84' Wolfsburg Vanagon. I've had it about three years. It is a spring/ summer/ fall camper for the family and it stored well away from the salty Michigan winter roads. Now that winter is gone (almost) I've got the itch to get the bus out and get it ready for a season of camping. We would also like to take it on a family trip to Washington state (Cascade Mtns.) The vanagon was previously owned, for a short time, by my best friend who is notorious for not taking care of his cars. Previous to that who knows what the original owner did or didn't do. So far I have replaced cracked fuel fittings on the gas tank and put on a new water pump. A new O2 sensor was installed last summer. Other than that there hasn't been much I've had to do. A local repair shop has agreed to let me watch/learn repairs to my beloved "bus." I'll be taking it there this weekend so they can check it out and provide a list of recommended service/ repairs. I do have the Bently manual. My question is this....what should I be on the look out for? Any recommendations are greatly appreciated.

Have a great weekend. Brien K Dews CC www.allgoodtime.com 616.863.8463 84' Westy (no name yet)
