This rookie says it's because your fluid level was low or air in the system before, so your pedal dropped further into its cycle before disengaging/engaging the clutch. It engages earlier now because the system is full and functioning better.

I had my VW dealer bleed the brake lines and clutch cylinder yesterday. < please don't throw stuff at the monitor >

When I picked up the Westy, I noticed that the pedal "feel" was different. Now the clutch engages at the "top" of the pedal throw. previously it would engage at about half way.

Any thoughts as to why this would change ?
