Andrew,

That is NOT a Westy (grin) I mean a REAL VW Westy or Weekender with a Chevy motor. Those types of vans are plentiful around here. Cheap. Dogs too. My brother in law has a Chevy (or is it GMC?) any way, it's a camper van with the fiber glass top (not pop top just higher inside) with stove fridge bed, etc. and he gets about 10 or 11 mpg. The Sportsmobile is just a glorified Chevy, Ford or Dodge Van IMHO.

The Westy's, Weekenders and Vanagons have "character", class and one of the greatest use of space I've ever seen. They are truly unique. And I just love them except, for the d**m motor and injection system. Not that I'm crazy about the cooling system, length and amount of hose running around the Westy , but that is livable.

Cheers,
