Gary, et all..talking about the 3rd/4th slider hub in the Watercooled transmissions ...the 091 311 301 B is what the dealer replaces the old 301 part with (#27) and it is the updated version by VW. That doesn't mean they came in any of the vehicles, but it is what they are selling as the replacement part. The factory only put the updated part in the late 89 and 90 vans and the only other way it gets into a tranny is if the likes of me put one in at some point after the car was sold or during a warranty repair. If it has never been replaced...it WILL break sometime after 120 to 150K miles typically. Daryl of AA Transaxle Duvall, WA.
