"VWs on the Mountain" Show and Camping Saturday, May 17, 2003 10 AM to 4 PM Camping all weekend

Sunburst Recreation Area Attn: Dave & Sharyl 8355 Prospect Drive Kewaskum, WI 53040 email: chefsharyl@hnet.com Phone: 262.626.6413

There seems to be a real dearth of VW camping events here in the upper Midwest, so I was pleased to discover this new one. An email to the organizers garnered a prompt response with all the particulars, so here is more info:

Located less than an hour northwest of Milwaukee, this is primarily a Volkswagen show, with several categories for nearly all VWs from early Beetles and Campers to the latest watercooled models, with trophies awarded to category winners. But in addition, camping is offered on the grounds throughout the weekend, with a large group campfire, and an all-you-care-to-eat spaghetti dinner Saturday night. There will also be a VW Evening Cruise and live music afterwards.

As this is the "1st Annual" launch of the show, it's hard to predict the size of the event, but if the turnout is promising, the organizers seem eager to adapt the show categories, facilities, etc. for future events. So whether you're showing off your just-restored Karmann Ghia or just want a fun place to pop your Westy top for the weekend, all are welcome.

Please contact the organizers listed above for complete info/entry forms via email.
