You're lucky - the bottom seam below my water intake area is all rusted and bowed out, etc. I'm dreading seeing what it looks like after I pull out all my cabinets, etc. I'm going to have to cut-out and weld on new steel. I was talking with a friend of mine recently about my impending ordeal (still waiting for it to get a little warmer here in New England)and he mentioned that there was some type of product on the market that turns rust into a polymer....? - I think....So that it changes the whole chemical make-up of it and neutralizes it. I also seem to remember a thread about a couple of months ago that some guys posted who had to fix some bad rust on their Westy, and they listed a website with some pretty thorough directions. I'll have to go through my VW mailing list binder to find the article, but I'll see if I can dig it up for you.

Peace, Marla '87 Westy GL Van "Morrison"
