As I already p-mailed to Tim, I'm not the author and didn't mean to imply that. I just wanted Tim to know the sort of resources that are available. The author of this and other fine tech articles is Tom Carrington. Cheers, Doug

Already sent this directly, but thought I should post it to the list so Doug gets his props publicly! ---------------------------------------------------------- Doug, Now I can thank you directly! I found your web pages via the archives and printed it out last weekend. I needed confirmation that this can actually be done with the engine still in the van, and the pulley still on the crankshaft. This cured my initial despair, and convinced me that there are some seriously experienced and dedicated folks on this list. That's why I signed up! Only major difference I found on my Van was that the water pipes are held on by allen-head screws, I had to get out my Dremel and cut about a quarter inch (8mm?) off the end of a 7mm allen wrench to get at one on the bottom of the pump (the full-length tool wouldn't clear the crankshaft pulley). All I have left to get out is the bottom bolt on the upper water pipe on the passenger side... a PO has helpfully rounded out the bolt, and I've compounded the problem by shearing off a screw extractor in the bolt... gives me a nice challenge to look forward to *this* weekend!
