My passenger side upper control arm bushing went out
two summers ago on my '87, and it squeaked, and there
was slop in the steering. You really don't have to do
anything elaborate to determine if yours has gone
out-- just take a hard left and feel the wheel. It
should be obvious by then.
My bus felt like a million bucks after I got this
fixed, BTW.
