Mr. Jay, Pretty much a good idea. Start looking for petrol when your trip gauge gets to 175 to 180 miles. You are just about ready for some more at that range. And if you do this, no walking--- Good evening,

I seem to be having some problems with the gas gauge in my '85 Westy. After filling up, I get about 160 miles before I am at about 1/8 of a tank. When I fill up the next time, I can only fit about 11 gallons in the tank. As I recall, the tank in my Westy is a bit over 14 gallons, so this doesn't quite add up... What type of range should I expect with a stock 1.9L in a lightly loaded '85 Westy? I thought about just driving her until she runs out of gas to see how far I can get on a tank, but I can't imagine the fuel pump would be too fond of that little experiment...                                                                                                 Thanks in advance,                                                 Jay Brown                                                 '72 Hardtop Camper                                                 '85 Vanagon Westfalia                                                 http://www.geocities.com/vwcamper72
